What is Sleekr?

Sleekr is a social network where every plan to meet has a coin stake behind it. You lock coins to commit, you get them back when you show up. If your partner flakes, the coins they staked come to you. The result is people who actually show up.

How is this different from a dating app?

Dating apps optimise for engagement on the platform — swipes, messages, profile views. Sleekr optimises for an outcome off the platform: you and someone else, in the same room, at the agreed time. The stake makes it real.

Is it only for dating?

No. It's built for any one-on-one meet-up where flaking is the failure mode — coffees, business intros, study sessions, gym buddies, language exchanges. Anywhere two humans need to actually be in a place together.

What are coins?

Coins are Sleekr's in-app currency. They're not crypto — no chains, no gas, no volatility. 1 coin is pegged 1:1 to fiat at top-up. Think of them as escrow tokens that exist only to make promises count.

How do I top up?

Top up via Flutterwave (card, bank, or mobile money), or Bitnob (USDT). Top-ups land in your wallet in seconds. The minimum top-up is small enough to try a single low-stake plan before committing more.

Can I withdraw coins?

Yes. Coins you've earned (from someone flaking on you, or from being paid for a session) can be withdrawn to your bank or USDT wallet. There's a 3-day cool-down between successful withdrawals — a fraud guardrail, not a barrier.

What fees do you charge?

Sleekr takes 10% on a successful session. Cancellation tiers vary (5-10%). No-shows where nobody showed up: 0% (full refund to booker). No-shows where the booker flaked: 10% from the provider's payout. Withdrawals: no extra fee.

How much do I have to stake?

The other person sets the stake on their profile. You see it before you propose. You can negotiate up or down in chat — both sides have to lock the same amount before the plan goes live.

What if I can't make it?

Cancel any time. The closer to the meeting, the less of your stake you get back: 95% if you cancel 24h+ in advance, 80% in the 2-24h window, 50% if you cancel inside 2 hours. The difference compensates the person you blocked.

Provider cancellations are always a 100% refund. They blocked your slot; if they bail, the cost is theirs.

What if we just don't show up?

If neither person checks in at the venue, it's treated as a mutual no-show: full refund to the booker, no payout to the provider. Nobody made it; nobody pays.

What if I show up and they don't?

You get their stake (minus the platform fee). You also get a notification within seconds of the no-show window closing, so you don't sit there guessing.

How do you verify users?

Every account passes a selfie + ID liveness check on signup. We use industry-standard KYC providers; the photo gets matched against the ID document to confirm you are who you say you are.

What if someone harasses me?

Block them. They lose the ability to see you, message you, or appear in your discovery feed. Reports go to our trust & safety queue and are reviewed within 24h. Repeat offenders are removed.

Can I dispute a session that went wrong?

Yes. After every verified session, a 48h dispute window opens. File a dispute and our team reviews the full context — chat history, presence data, GPS check-ins, proximity logs — and decides on a fair outcome (full refund, split, or payout).

How does the QR handshake work?

When you arrive, one party generates a QR code; the other scans it. The server checks both phones' GPS coordinates against the venue (within 200m) AND the QR's secret. Only when all three match do the stakes release. You can't fake this from your couch.

Where is my location used?

Only at two moments: when you tap 'Refresh location' on the settings page (for distance-based discovery), and during the check-in / QR-scan window. We don't track you in the background.

Who sees my photos?

By default, only people you've matched with see your full media. Profile previews are blurred. The unlocked-media feature lets you charge a small coin amount for first-tier access — your choice.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, from Settings → Delete account. We remove your profile, photos, and chat history from active systems. Anonymised challenge records are retained for fraud / dispute audit only.

When does Sleekr launch?

We're rolling out city by city in 2026. Lagos is first, then expanding through Africa and into selected metros in Europe / North America. Join the waitlist to get notified for your city.

Both. Sleekr ships as a Capacitor-native app on iOS + Android, plus a full PWA that installs to your home screen on any device. The PWA has feature parity except for native call ringer.
